  • Foreclosure Workshop at Gillette Stadium Today

Gillette Stadium, located on Route 1 in Foxboro, will host a foreclosure workshop today–another chance for people facing foreclosure to meet with national lenders.   Several of these workshops have been organized across the Commonwealth, including one recently held in Brockton, sponsored by Governor Patrick and Brockton Mayor Harrington.

It is the intent of this workshop to give individuals facing foreclosure an opportunity to negotiate a more favorable payment plan with national lenders.  Today’s event, co-sponsored by The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, will be held in the Fidelity Clubhouse from 1:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. …

  • New Notable Land Record-Samuel Woodward, Scituate Born Poet

This week, we made an addition to our Plymouth County Notable Land Records Collection.   As described in greater detail in the Notable Land Records Collection section of this website, we alternate copies of  notable land records  with a brief story that goes along with them in the entry corridor at our main office in Plymouth.

Neighborhood Housing Services made calls to a sample of seventy-six homeowner attendees, with the following results:  Of seventy-six follow-up calls, twenty- eight attendees were reached and spoken with.  Of those phone discussions, twenty homeowners (a 71% average) had received a call back from their national lender in …

  • Federal Housing Legislation Signed Into Law

Earlier this week,  President George Bush signed into law long awaited legislation that could have a significant impact on our current slowdown in the Plymouth County Real Estate Market, the “Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008″.  This massive and multi-faceted approach to the “subprime” mortage crisis and our general economic condition has been called by many the most significant piece of housing legislation in decades.

Congressman Barney Frank, who represents many communities in Plymouth County, was the driving force on the House side in pushing this legislation forward.

The legislation, in part, is intended to make it easier for borrowers facing foreclosure …
