Plymouth County Real Estate Maintains Strength in May

Real estate activity in Plymouth County has remained relatively strong through the month of May. Our recent Register’s Report show 806 sales recorded in May. It was the highest number of deeds recorded since last year at this time. An inventory shortage of properties for sale continues to be noted by realtors and buyers in the Plymouth County marketplace as it is elsewhere in Massachusetts.

People are continuing to take advantage of historically low interest rates. In May, there were 2351 mortgages recorded. Through May of 2013, mortgages recorded are 3 % higher than last year at this time.

As we have reported over the last several months, the number of foreclosure deeds and foreclosure notices are also signicantly lower than last year at this time. Foreclosure deeds are 69% lower and foreclosure notices are 29% below last year’s pace, a trend that have led many to believe the foreclosure crisis may be dropping to a nmore managable volume. On this website you can view not only our most recent recording numbers but many previous months numbers for comparison.
